Design: Our Protection

Designer's inspiration behind the design:

Our Protection is a western-inspired belt buckle design that reflects the things that matter most to me: faith, family, heritage, and the protection God provides throughout our lives.

At the center of the buckle is a woman depicted as both a cowgirl and a Native American, someone I believe embodies my sister’s and my love of our bloodline. I wanted the design to honor my Native American heritage while also embracing the western theme of the project. To me, she represents strength, resilience, and the values that have been passed down through generations.

Standing beside her is a horse, one of the most prominent features of the design. I included the horse as a tribute to my sister and her lifelong passion for all things horses. It symbolizes loyalty, freedom, and the special connection between people and the animals they love.

The buckle is surrounded by detailed western scrollwork that ties the entire piece together and gives it a traditional western feel. Along the bottom are a pair of wings that represent our spirituality and God's grace. They serve as a reminder that God places His angels around us for protection, guidance, and comfort, even when we cannot see them.

At the base of the design is an oval setting intended to hold the wearer's birthstone. I wanted to include a personal element that would make each buckle unique to the individual wearing it while also representing how precious each person is in God's eyes.

About the Artist:

I am a creative artist whose work is inspired by faith, family, heritage, and the stories that connect us. Whether I am creating handcrafted jewelry, designing faith-inspired products, writing, or developing original artwork, my goal is always the same: to create something meaningful that resonates beyond its appearance.

Much of my work centers around symbolism and storytelling. I am drawn to pieces that carry a deeper message and reflect the values that have shaped my life. My Native American heritage, Christian faith, and strong family bonds often influence my creative process, resulting in designs that speak to themes of strength, perseverance, grace, protection, and purpose.
