How to Heat Up Your Summer with Accessories | A Wild West Summer
We feel that Memorial Day Weekend is the (un)official start to summer! When the sun shines bright and the temperatures rise, you know it’s time for backyard barbecues, baseball games, and golden hour horseback rides. From filigree necklaces and floral earrings to leather bracelets and silver rings, summer style are supposed to be easy and breezy.
Montana Silversmiths offers an array of western jewelry that can go from riverside to rodeo with effortless ease. Here are a few favorite western accessories for this summer:
Bold Yet Simple
We are always a fan of statement jewelry pieces but for summer, be bold yet minimal. Make a statement with jewelry that stands out but keep it simple in the sticky summertime heat. Minimal jewelry is the best option, and you can choose jewelry that packs a punch! You do not want to be fussing over chunky necklaces or stacked cuff bracelets while in the heat. Often, the simplest things are often the prettiest.
Florals are timeless and feminine. Floral jewelry is always in style, but they are the ultimate summer accessory. Earrings with flowers dangle to show-off the artistry in their etched petals. Two-toned cuff bracelets hold silver and gold finishes with flower accents. Flower necklaces are soft, sweet, and the finishing touch to simple summer outfits. Florals for summer are groundbreaking to us.
Aim for Effortless
We like to think we speak for everyone when we say the style goal for the summer is to look great and feel good with minimal effort. Want to know the easiest way to heat up your summer with accessories? Aim for jewelry pieces that are effortless. This looks like a messy bun that shows off simple geometric studs or dangly horseshoe earrings. Or it could be a simple t-shirt dress with a cuff bracelet and matching necklace. Keep your clothing style minimal, comfortable, and effortless while letting your accessories do the work and standing out.
Turquoise is a western style staple that easily complements all outfits. Our favorite summer outfit: jean cutoffs, a lightweight white blouse, cowboy boots, and turquoise accents. Turquoise necklaces look incredible with summer dresses. A turquoise cuff bracelet for a day of horseback riding? A no-brainer. If you are looking to ease into summer accessorizing, look no further than turquoise jewelry.
Learn Proper Jewelry Care
All our products have a trademark protective finish called Montana Armor which helps keep tarnishing at bay. However, summer can still take its toll and tarnishing can still happen, especially from heat, moisture (sweat!) and lack of proper care.
After a long day, make sure you wipe down your pieces with a dry, 100% cotton cloth to remove any impurities that may have gathered when wearing. Sometimes warm soap and mild soap can be used, while patting dry with a soft cloth, but really elbow grease is all you’ll need.
Never soak your jewelry in water or use jewelry cleaners, harsh chemicals, or sanitizers on your pieces. Make your jewelry the last item you put on in the morning and the first thing you tuck in at night!
