Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship Winners Announce - 12/16/2010

MONTANA SILVERSMITHS ® Pursuit of Excellence Scholarships Class of 2010

Columbus , MT —   Montana Silversmiths® Pursuit of Excellence scholarships were awarded to high school students as an investment in candidates who have a history of self-improvement and a desire to better themselves and the communities in which they live.

This scholarship is unique, in the fact that the recipients are not being rewarded for having the best grades or possessing the most athletic ability, but celebrates the student with a desire to become the best that they can be; individuals that are in the Pursuit ofExcellence with a “can do attitude.”

Pursuit of Excellence Scholarships were awarded for efforts in self-improvement, setting and achieving goals, being involved in a western way of life, possessing strong sportsmanship skills and being involved in their communities.

Class of 2010 recipients includes:
Lindsey Harper-Barton College, Wilson, NC
Shay Carrol-Northeastern Jr. College, Sterling, CO
Tyler McGee-Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK

Since 2005 Montana Silversmiths has awarded over 30 scholarships and $35,000 to students in Pursuit of Excellence.

MONTANA SILVERSMITHS ANNOUNCES CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER APPOINTMENT, David Stimmel, to join Montana Silversmiths effective October 27, 2010

Columbus, MT — Montana Silversmiths® announced today that David Stimmel has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer.  Stimmel was most recently Vice-President Finance of Transtector Systems, Inc.

Wil Garland, Montana Silversmiths® Chairman of the Board, stated “We are very happy David has joined the management team at MTS. He’s an avid fan of the American West and the consummate finance professional.  His experience with manufacturing operations is also a big plus since we will continue to focus on upgrading our Columbus plant.”   

Stimmel stated, "I'm delighted to join the MTS Company.  The prospects for growth at MTS, and in the western industry, are excellent so Montana’s where I want to be”.

Columbus, MT — Montana Silversmiths® announced today that Rick Ruebusch has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer.  Ruebusch has had numerous prestigious executive appointments during his career and has most recently served as President of SPX Corporation, a Fortune 500 capital goods manufacturer.

Rick is an Ohio State University graduate and as well as being a Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Manufacturing expert.  His extensive career accomplishments reflect his excellence in management, operations, manufacturing, technology and engineering.

MONTANA SILVERSMITHS ANNOUNCES National Account Manager, Nicole Cash, Joins Montana Silversmiths Sales Team

Columbus, MT — Montana Silversmiths® announced today Nicole Cash has accepted the position of National Account Manager.  Nicole comes to Montana with a wealth of sales knowledge and extensive experience in the western industry.  Throughout her career Nicole has demonstrated a unique ability to help customers reach their sales and profit goals.  Her career path has included key account management with Rocky Mountain Clothing Company, Arizona Legend Apparel and most recently as National Sales Manager for Trenditions.  Nicole is a graduate of University of Arizona.

Kevin Walsh, Montana Silversmiths® VP of Sales & Marketing, stated “I am delighted to have Nicole on our team. Her knowledge and experience will prove invaluable as we implement our plans for growth.”

Nicole will report directly to Kevin Walsh and will be based out of the Montana Silversmiths’ office in Denver. Beauty and Authentic Style World Champion Barrel Racer, Brittany Pozzi, Montana Silversmiths newest “Cover Girl”

Columbus, MT., May 26, 2010—World Champion Barrel Racer Brittany Pozzi is Montana Silversmiths® newest “cover girl” signing a recent modeling and endorsement contract that also includes riding with the brand in the competitive arena. Brittany, a two time World Champion Barrel Racer, is a great representative of women who are proactive about their lives and their passions, and will represent Montana Silversmiths® distinctive engraved western buckles and jewelry.

Pozzi has had remarkable success since she first entered the arena at age 13. She was a champion in high school and college and is the reining WPRA World Champion Barrel Racer, a title she also held in 2007.
